NEPTUN's HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT
NEPTUN was established in 1870 under the name of BERGNINGS- OCH DYKERIAKTIEBOLAGET NEPTUN (SALVAGE AND DIVING COMPANY NEPTUN).

From a proud past as a major salvage contractor the company diversified into general marine contracting work.
The experience and skill gained during work in harsh environmental conditions have been further developed to meet the demands from the marine industry and from the offshore industry in particular.
NEPTUN record covers 130 years of operation and includes such spectacular tasks as
-The salvage of the ancient warship VASA that had been laying at the bottom of the sea since 1628. She was raised by Neptun in April 1961. In
December 1988 we finalised the work by transporting and docking VASA into the new VASA Maritime Museum.
-Transport
of the integrated deck for the Gullfaks C platform in Norway. The
weight was 48.700 t and this is the heaviest object
ever transported on water. NEPTUN has earlier
undertaken similar operations for other major platforms in
Norway.
-Removal of 21 ships that had been sunk in the Suez-canal
-Removal of 20 ships that had been sunk within the harbour of Port of Spain, Trinidad.
-Laying of a submarine power cable (90 km of 90 mm dia) between the mainland of Sweden and the island of Gotland.
-Lifting of a giant floating dock in Norway (36.000 t) for repair after she had been heavily damaged during transport.
Most projects have been carried out in remote
areas under hostile conditions and reflect NEPTUN's ability to
combine the use of specialised equipment and modern offsho
re
technology with locally available resources.
NEPTUN offer the experience and the unique know-how of technical and
nautical experts trained during NEPTUN's world-wide operations.
As managers and engineers, NEPTUN combines all the necessary resources to execute marine projects of multi discipline character.

Some recent projects:
We completed the Load out, Transport and Mating of the Hibernia Topsides to the Gravity Base Structure. The Deck has a weight of 38,000t. The Hibernia Field is located on the Grand Banks East of Newfoundland, Canada. Our operation was taken place at the Bull Arm Site, located at a fjord on the Northern coast of Newfoundland.
We assisted Coflexip (SAGA/Varg Field-Norwegian sector) with the installation of a sub sea buoy acting as support of the mid-water arch for the risers. The project included extensive ROV intervention from a AHTS acting as installation platform in DP mode.
