NEPTUN's HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT
|
NEPTUN was established in 1870 under the name of BERGNINGS- OCH DYKERIAKTIEBOLAGET NEPTUN (SALVAGE AND DIVING COMPANY NEPTUN). From a proud past as a major salvage contractor the company diversified into general marine contracting work. The experience and skill gained during work in harsh environmental conditions have been further developed to meet the demands from the marine industry and from the offshore industry in particular. |

record covers 130 years of operation and includes such spectacular tasks as -The
salvage of the ancient warship VASA that had been laying
at the bottom of the sea since 1628. She was raised by Neptun
in April 1961. -Transport of the integrated deck for theGullfaks C platform in Norway. The weight was 48.700 t and this is the heaviest object ever transported on water.
